Proposed Incinerator Project at Semenyih, Broga (2003)
The SIA component of the detailed EIA study for the Malaysian Ministry of Housing and Local Government
involved determining the socio-economic profile of stakeholders, understanding the stakeholders’ reaction and
preferences towards the proposed incinerator project as well as the social impact. Several discussion group
meetings were held to elicit the views of the stakeholders. In addition mitigation measures and the residual
impacts of the project were identified.
