Nudjarin Ramungul
Dr. Nudjarin Ramungul is a research specialist at the National Metal and Materials
Technology Center (MTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency,
Ministry of Science and Technology, Thailand. She also serves as the director of MTEC's
Environmental Research Unit and the chairman of the Thai Industrial Standards'
Technical Committee (TC) 1008 on the Environmental standardization for electrical
and electronic products and systems. Dr. Ramungul focuses on the uses of hazardous
substances in Thailand's export products and strategic approaches to developing
green supply chains to cope with emerging chemical safety and environmental
regulations. She has conducted several research and development activities in
collaboration with international partners to foster appropriate supply chain network
and infrastructure to support the production of Thai Hazardous Substances Free
Products. She also conducted policy research to identify appropriate approaches to
improve competitiveness of Thai industry in the green marketplace. During the past 10
years, her work has helped increase the capacity of Thai industry to meet challenges
from both environmental legislation and markets' expectations. In her role as the
Environmental Research Unit's director, Dr. Ramungul oversees research activities in
the development of eco-innovative materials and the developement of national
indicators for the assessment of environmental impacts of materials and products from
the life-cycle perspective. Dr. Ramungul received a Ph.D. Degree in Electrical
Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.
